POSITION PURPOSE -

Homedepot.com continues to grow online at a fast pace. To support this rapid growth we are looking for industry leaders in Quality Assurance to grow our testing practice. This position is for a Lead Quality Analyst with the following focus:

  • Ecommerce background:
1. Experience with a large internet retailer or high volume commerce site
2. Knowledge of Websphere commerce or similar large platform e.g. ATG or custom built
3. Experience in one or more of the following areas: SEO, SEM, Content, Web Analytics, Social Media, Commerce including payment methods e.g. PayPal, CyberSource, etc.,
4. Integration with other web based applications e.g. Test in Target, Google Adsense, Certona, Omniture is a plus
5. Experience in testing ETL, EAI, Web Services and general APIs is a plus
6. Experience with mobile based platforms is a plus
  • Automation
1. Selenium based automation or other automation tools, e.g. QTP,
2. Automation with mobile devices
  • Leadership
1. Leading small to medium sized teams
2. Collaborate in a large matrix environment
3. Ability to deliver in a fast paced environment
4. Effective oral and written communication skills
5. Ability to manage onshore and offshore teams
6. Experience with various methodologies, especially Agile
  • Technical Reqs.
1. Java for those with automation experience or similar programming language
2. WCS 5.6 or greater and/or similar platform
3. Experience using various Quality Assurance tools e.g. Quality Center

Someone with a strong ecommerce background without automation experience will also be considered.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES '"
  • Develop and analyze master test plans, test cases, test schedules & test scripts from Analysts and Associates.
  • Lead quality throughout the SDLC.
  • Review multi-project QA activities in a release
  • Identify and thoroughly analyze defects, issues, risks, and action items along with identifying the business requirements & the system requirements as part of the project team.
  • Define and track quality assurance metrics.
  • Monitor & instruct team members on proper procedures to ensure team compliance.
  • Provide status reports to Manager on development projects.
  • Sign-off on test strategy, test development, and test results prior to implementation into production.
NATURE AND SCOPE -
Typically reports to Manager, Information Technology

No associates report to this role on a permanent basis, but requires the technical leadership of a project work team: may select team members and assess capabilities, provide technical training, provide information necessary to meet work, project or program objectives, evaluate program or project performance.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS -
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must pass the Drug Test.
Must successfully complete any required training or orientation courses.

EDUCATION REQUIRED -
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.

YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE - 5

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS -

  • Develop and analyze master test plans, test cases, test data, test schedules & test scripts from Analysts and Associates.
  • Able to critically think through defects, issues risks, and action items and determine appropriate course of action
  • Define and track quality assurance metrics.
  • Ability to lead an on/offshore teams for a project within a release
  • Document Processes and policies
  • Complete audit documentation
  • Lead daily defect review call with Project stakeholders (Quality Assurance teams, Development teams, matrix organizations and Business partners)
  • Ensure team processes are followed to ensure continuity.
  • Provide status reports to Manager/Lead on projects.
  • Sign-off on test strategy, test development, and test results prior to implementation into production.
  • Experience working with teams of both onshore and offshore resources
  • Web testing experience
  • DB2 and/or relational database knowledge
  • Thorough experience in all components of HP Quality Center (Requirements, Test Plan, Test Lab, Defects)
  • Experience with automated regression testing systems
  • Undergraduate or graduate BS or BBA with major in the Information Technology field or commensurate level of experience.
  • Knowledge of software development methods and quality assurance best practice techniques
  • Interpersonal skills including written and oral communications and negotiation skills.
  • 8+ years overall Quality Assurance test experience (or relevant THD experience)
  • Interpersonal and relationship skills necessary to work with an integrated team of business users, project managers, and developers.
  • Seasoned tester with skills applied to functional, regression, and automation testing
  • Ability to provide technical leadership in test planning, procedures development and test execution
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to draft formal test schedules and estimates with minimal supervision
  • Provides testing leadership and support to the software development post-implementation/deployment phase
  • Ability to formulate and implement improvements into test processes and practices
  • Experience with test automation a plus
  • Solid working knowledge of quality assurance methodologies.
  • Familiarity with the Mercury Interactive Product Suite.
  • The ability to successfully, professionally, and diplomatically interact with others and develop relationships with people in the organization.
  • Ensure highest quality through use of QA processes & procedures.
  • Solid experience coding in programming languages.
  • Solid experience with IT environments.
  • Proficient in performance tools.
  • BS Computer Science or related field.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES -

  • 5 years automation scripting for a java application
  • Experiencing leading an automation team
  • 5 years ecommerce QA experience
  • Solid working knowledge of quality assurance methodologies.
  • Familiarity with the Mercury Interactive Product Suite.
  • The ability to successfully, professionally, and diplomatically interact with others and develop relationships with people in the organization.
  • Ensure highest quality through use of QA processes & procedures.
