Lead Project Manager- International MYCA-13000190

The International MYCA (Manage Your Card Account) team is responsible for delivering secure web based applications to allow International Cardholders to self service on-line. As a Lead Project Manager, the candidate will be responsible for planning, directing and coordinating projects from initiation through to implementation. Leads cross-functional project teams and works closely with Business Partners and Business Analysts to determine and translate business requirements into technology solutions. Works with leadership to ensure quality and timely delivery of projects. Responsible for managing project costs, resources, change requests, risks and issues to ensure that the maximum business benefit and the provision of regular project status updates. Provide recommendations on tool and products for efficient time to market delivery. Provide solutions to reduce Total Cost of Ownership and identifying re-engineering opportunities including accountability for resource optimization. The successful candidate will manage employees and vendor partner resources to drive portfolio goals, standardization, transformation and process improvements across the area of work.

  • Work with our Business Partners who are located in geographically dispersed locations (North and South America, Europe and Asia)
  • Provide project leadership to technical teams in geographically dispersed location (US, India, UK)
  • Responsible for managing expectations, project costs, resources, change requests, portfolio metrics, risk and issues to ensure the maximum business benefit
  • Reviews development estimates for software development to ensure quality and accuracy
  • Accountable for ensuring appropriate/optimal engagement of delivery resources (employees and vendor partners)
  • Ensures that the supporting Business Case is updated throughout the course of delivery and works with the business to ensure business case objectives are met
  • Develops and manages project plans and ensures that the scope and approach are fully understood by all stakeholders. Ensures all systems of record for project reporting are kept current, and directs and monitors work effort on a regular basis
  • Reviews development estimates from Development Teams and actively seeks clarification/verification as appropriate
  • Ensures accurate reflection of Project Budgets, Financial and Resource Forecasts and Actual within Project Management tool
  • Delegate project assignments to Employee and Vendor developers, Senior Programmer Analysts and Business Systems Analysts and monitors performance across resource channels
  • Monitors and communicates the progress of project delivery and ensures timely and effective communication of project status in terms of cost, forecast, schedule and assessment of risks/issues to stakeholders
  • Negotiates and influences cross-functional teams to ensure appropriate resourcing levels are engaged and maintained throughout the course of the development life cycle
  • Pro-actively anticipates project risks and issues and ensures adequate mitigation is put in place to ensure delivery and quality is not compromised
  • Ensures effective change control procedures and processes are efficiently used to maintain control on scope, schedule and cost
  • Oversees quality assurance and ensures appropriate levels of end-to-end testing resources across the project are deployed
  • Facilitates Post Implementation Reviews and ensures lessons learned are carried forward appropriately including managing defect prevention plan and fish bone analysis
  • Contributes to continual process improvement and re-engineering activities for the portfolio

  • 5+ years of professional work experience including managing teams in project management, analysis and/or programming functions in large organizations
  • Must have worked on critical large scale enterprise high volume applications serving multiple channels, clients and markets requiring high availability and performance
  • Strong knowledge and know-how of various industry SDLC execution methodologies including Waterfall, Agile/SCRUM
  • Requires financial acumen in terms of representing project financials within the industry standard project management tools like MS Project and CA Clarity
  • Certification requirement: PMI or equivalent Project Management certification (e.g.. Certified Associate in Project Management, Certified Project Management Practitioner, International Project Management Association)
  • Drives results with an emphasis on reducing cycle time and increasing speed to market of new products
  • Must have prior experience managing Java SDLC projects
  • Understanding and knowledge of latest technology trends including Social Media and Mobile a plus
  • Must have work experience on Windows platform. Exposure to multiple platforms including Unix a plus
  • Must be enthusiastic, self motivated and possess strong leader qualities
