The Quality Consultant role within the Advanced Software Technologies (AST) Development team is a critical role to drive both thought leadership and tactical execution to ensure the delivery of high quality software platforms and solutions.
As the Quality Consultant on the AST team you will be responsible to partner with the software development teams to drive quality of our software programs through activities including:
Analyzing design requirements to develop and implement Test Automation framework.
Contributing to the design, implementation, and maintenance of an Automation framework.
Consulting and mentoring development teams to enable them to:
- Automate maintainable Basic Acceptance Tests, Functional, and Regression.
- Perform White and Grey Box testing.
- Test manually when needed.
Providing consolidated status reports for defects and test case execution progress to management and stakeholders.
Working closely with teams to diagnose bugs and formulate solutions.
Establishing and enforcing governance on quality related team rituals and artifacts (e.g. peer QA review, … )
A minimum of Bachelors Degree in Computer Engineering OR a STEM major (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math).
A minimum of 7 years of experience of QA experience including automated test cases for commercial or open-source available automation tools (QTP or Selenium)
A minimum of 3 years of experience in testing web services (SOAP/REST, Throughput or Performance under Load.)
Must be willing to work out of an office located in the East Bay Area in Northern California.
Must be willing to travel.

Experience with HP Quality Center; Jira; VMware.
Ability to work closely with Development, Product Management, Design, Support, and other key stakeholders.
Experience with Agile development best practices.
Excellent communication and analytic skills.
Energetic and self-motivated with the ability to quickly embrace and understand new technologies.
Ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously and produce high quality products.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills demonstrated by the ability to assimilate new information, understand complex topics.
Linux/Unix environment management and development experience required.
Strong knowledge of Java, OSGI, Spring, XML, Spring, SQL, Oracle and Shell scripting highly desirable.
Familiarity or experience with popular development and open source tools for source control, build management, continuous integration (Maven, Bamboo, SVN), and system monitoring tools.
