Under the general supervision of the Director of Cardiopulmonary the Lead RRT provides comprehensive respiratory care to include: basic respiratory care, intensive respiratory care, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, arterial blood gas, electrocardiograms, and basic pulmonary function testing. The position will be responsible for the care of patients ages:
Infancy Birth to 1 year
Toddlers Age 1 to 3
Preschool Age 3 to Age 5
School Child Age 5 to Age 12
Adolescent Age 12 to Age 18
Young Adult Age 18 to Age 44
Middle Age Age 45 to Age 65
Older Adult Age 65 and Over
Performs patient care duties consistent with established Departmental and Hospital standards of care. Abides by all rules, directives, policies, and procedures, and performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.
A. Completion of 2 year AMA approved program for Respiratory Technician.
B. Should have at least two year experience in a Respiratory Therapy Department.
C. Must be a Registered Respiratory Technician and obtain Respiratory Care
Practitioner Certificate in accordance with the Texas Department of Health.
D. Current CPR certification.
