Mass Relevance processes hundreds of millions of social media posts a day and we are looking for a very talented engineer to build our search capabilities. Our ideal candidate not only knows search, but really understands what it takes to build a very scalable real-time indexing pipeline.
You have deep experience with Solr and/or Lucene and can make the appropriate decision on which to choose.
You are skilled with Java tuning. You know how to get the most out of a machine
You are tapped into the open source community and follow the developments and contributions of other companies to the search/IR space.
You have built a distributed indexing pipeline
You have built interesting analytics and discovery tools on top of search indexes (e.g. charting number of hits over time)
You look forward to the challenge of indexing 300 million documents a day
You have experience working with cloud architectures, especially EC2
