Lead Sales Engineer - Technical Business Development
will act as a domain expert to sales teams and customers on the Salesforce.com suite of platform products. Areas of contribution are three fold: demonstrate product expertise, provide sales engineering expertise on large deals, and be a proponent of platform sales within your region. Candidates should be able to contribute strongly in a minimum of two of these three areas.
As a sales engineer, the candidate will: understand customer goals and challenges and establish salesforce.com's product as the leading solution, build and present customized demonstrations, present salesforce.com technology infrastructure, and demonstrate deep familiarity with hardware, software, networking and security environments. Candidates will participate in all product, sales, and process training and certification to acquire and maintain the knowledge necessary to be effective, and will attain quarterly and annual objectives assigned by management. Candidates will respond effectively to RFPs and assist in business case development.
As a platform product owner in a region, the candidate will monitor top opportunities in a region, engage with top platform partners, monitor and encourage pipeline development, and work with sales executives to promote platform selling amongst their sales teams. The candidate would also gather feedback in their geography and provide those inputs back to product marketing and management.
Candidates should be comfortable working with and speaking to (senior) executives at customers and within salesforce, be self-motivated and enjoy learning new technologies and products. Blending technical knowledge with strategic and business acuity, candidates will join a senior and highly regarding team of experts.
B.S. Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS or equivalent work experience
Solid oral, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work as part of a team to solve technical problems in varied political environments
