RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the integration of other COTS packages and the integration into and out of Remedy
Gather and prioritize customer requirements, and develop and implement products to meet the requirements.
Development new enhancements of existing custom Remedy application. This will require a deep knowledge of Remedy workflow capabilities and ability to develop solutions to complex problems within the Remedy toolset.
Design and develop integrations to Atrium CMDB and Remedy ITSM products. Should have a solid understanding of the integration capabilities of the AR System including mid-tier and the Help desk, Change, Problem, Task, SLM, Asset, SRM, Reporting and Analytics and have a working knowledge of the Remedy API, web services and standard relational database concepts.
Candidate must also have a solid understanding of systems architecture and provide hands-on development to integrate Remedy tools to other systems using various approaches (e.g., web services, industry standard messaging protocols, etc.) and provide recommendations based on business requirements.
Participate in project meetings and communicate development status.
Support multiple instances of the platform including Development, QA, and Production.
Analyze System log files and recommend changes and enhancements to applications and system configurations
Code, test, debug, implement, and document highly complex programs. Ability to develop complex test plans to verify logic of new or modified programs.
Design systems and programs to meet highly complex business needs. Prepares detailed specifications from which programs are developed and coded. Create appropriate documentation in work assignments such as program code, and technical documentation.
Research information from existing systems, analyze program and time requirements. Prepare time estimates and justifications for assigned tasks and provides recommendations to project managers.
Support project personnel in resolving fairly complex program problems. Works with client and management to resolve issues and validate programming requirements within their areas of responsibility. Provides technical advice on complex programming.
Serve as a technical project lead; providing leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel. Conducts quality assurance activities such as peer reviews and design reviews.
Provide consulting services in a technical and/or managerial capacity to management and technical staff. May represent company in presentations or conferences involving customers, co-contractors, suppliers, competitors, academia or the public.
Work across teams to ensure the highest level platform performance, availability and disaster recovery
Work closely with the business analysts and development team to assist in the appropriate extension, integration or development of the platform. Develop, publish and maintain statistical, management and custom reports
Subject Matter Expert of Remedy ARS based ITSM Suite version 7.6.x. This includes Atrium CMDB & custom applications based on Remedy ARS as well as integrations with Incident and Problem Management, Change Management, and external applications.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of 3 or more years of Remedy implementation/support experience
Requires solid Remedy development experience managing BMC Remedy v7.5, BMC Atrium v7.5; MSSQL 2005 or higher. Experience with BMC Analytics (Business Objects) a plus. Prefer experience with Remedy ARS Distributed Server Option (DSO), BMC Atrium CMDB, BMC Atrium Integration Engine
Previous large scale architecture & engineering of BMC Remedy AR System including mid tier a must, with experience at a similar sized company. This should include customization of ITSM as well as custom application development on the Remedy platform as well as configuring system for load-balanced implementations
Able to support Remedy on VM technologies and experience with high availability systems. Experience configuring server hardware and software for Remedy compatibility desirable
Capability to create system integrations utilizing web services, APIs, Java, C, etc. extremely beneficial.
Experience performing Software Development/Engineering or customization of third party products. Must be able to Develop and support software applications completely and on schedule.
Excellent understanding of SDLC processes.
Experience with Business Intelligence and data warehousing applications, Business Objects experience would be a plus.
Candidate must be able to effectively communicate with customers, system administrators, team members, and management and use sound judgment when considering enterprise impacts of technical decisions. Excellent writing skills with the ability to document applications.
Good communication skills to work effectively with team members, support personnel, and clients and ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
Good leadership skills to guide and mentor the work of less experienced personnel
Experience in a client-server and distributed systems environment supporting and troubleshooting Remedy installations
Ability to work on multiple tasks throughout the day and flexibility to adjust to changing needs
Good verbal and written communication skills
Proficient with technical writing and documentation management and building system and infrastructure architecture and design.
