As an IT professional you have expert knowledge in one or more programming languages or databases. Because of your excellent understanding of the entire project life cycle, you have the ability to direct project teams in the gathering, design, and development of complex applications/programs. This position will support and maintain HP NonStop Tandem servers, NonStop VTS, and related system infrastructure, across multiple datacenters. Specific responsibilities include: operating system upgrades, network configuration, system performance monitoring & enhancements, backup & recovery, scripting & automation, system security, replication & DR, production change & break-fix and general support for application development.
The Lead Systems Engineer develops, maintains and supports The Home Depot's complex technical infrastructures, hardware, and system software components. Operates as a team lead providing expert technical direction to team members. Interface with Business Stakeholders on all complex projects. Ability to present ideas and take charge of projects. Update manager on all escalated issues.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Manage installation, maintenance and support of complex technical infrastructures, hardware, and system software components.
Manage and tune platforms to ensure expected availability and performance levels are achieved.
Provide expert technical direction to Sr. System, System, Associate Engineers and contractors.
Manage store & SSC engineering and roll-out implementation.
Perform root cause analysis for service interruption recovery; create preventative measures on complex projects.
Interface with Business Stakeholders on all applicable projects. Update manager on all escalated issues.

Expert Knowledge and experience with computer hardware, operating systems and system software.
This position requires a minimum 5 years experience in HP NonStop (Tandem) systems support and administration. Ideal candidate would have provided technical Tandem support in a large company, multi-site production environment utilizing NS Series servers or NonStop Blades and is proficient in the following products; NonStop VTS, DSM/SCM, Measure, Safeguard, TACL scripting, OSS, TCP/IP. This position will also provide technical leadership and project management for the Tandem system environment. A four year degree is preferred.
