The “LTA – SharePoint On-premise” position will be responsible for all aspects of building, enhancing, and supporting of the @Amex SharePoint on-premise environment including support of the platform, services, capabilities, and applications.

Robustness, scalability, availability and efficiency in the @Amex SharePoint on-premise environment are key areas of responsibility. With Team Sites and more than 200+ applications in this environment, this person will work with Technical and Business Architects to ensure that the SharePoint on-premise environment and capabilities meet all business and IT strategic and technical requirements in the short and long term. This position will also work closely with internal/external partners, stakeholders, support, and service providers to deliver a superior SharePoint on-premise capability to internal users.

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated SharePoint lead, with broad experience in SharePoint (2010 or later) support, system administration, architecture, technical capabilities, and operational areas. The position requires strong technical, support and communication skills, and a track record of delivering results with large SharePoint implementations in partnership with internal/external partners, support, and support providers.

This job posting is one of three open Lead Technical Architect (LTA) positions in the @amex Delivery organization (all separate areas of responsibilities).

* Determines required infrastructure and design needed to support business requirements for workplace tools
* Partners with development team to implement and deliver SharePoint on-premise services
* Influence technical direction of future workplace tools and capabilities required to enhance the on-premise implementation
* Day to Day Management of our outsourced partner in support of our Global SharePoint platform/helpdesk
* Ability to create or lead the creation of processes, procedures, support flow and how to’s documentation
* Track support trends and create corrective solutions through training and end-user communication channels
* Analysis of advanced end-user needs to determine and recommend solution options
* Assist with SharePoint end-user access management process
* Create and maintain technical documentation, test plans and implementation plans
* Willingness to be on call after hours
* Provide a technical view of workplace vision accessible to business users to help drive workplace technologies transformation
* Partner with Architect/Engineering groups for the technical direction for SharePoint on-premise, providing consulting expertise, leveraging business and technical knowledge to support business strategies and deliver business value
* Plays an integral role in building and enhancing the infrastructure required to support the platform(s) or set of applications in terms of robustness, scalability, availability and efficiency
* Works with Technical and Business Architects to ensure developments support the business and IT strategic plan
* Ensures that platform(s) supported meet the business, technical and infrastructure needs by overseeing the health and well-being of the technical infrastructure
* Provides architectural governance, reviewing projects to ensure alignment to architectural and technical strategy
* Ability to drive results with an emphasis on reducing cycle time and increasing speed to market of new products

Qualifications

* EXPERT level/developer level knowledge of SharePoint required, cloud hosting experience and 2010 preferred (SharePoint 2013 expertise a plus)
* 3+ years experience working with SharePoint in an operational role as a technical lead with 1+ yrs focusing on SharePoint 2010.
* 3+ years of experience dealing with End Users and facilitation of solutions to meet identified needs.
* 2+ years of experience in managing outsourced partners.
* 3+ years working in the support and management of vended applications.
* Strong consultative skills; leadership presentation skills, excellent ability to translate technical language and architecture into usable business understanding
* Experience preferred includes: SharePoint development including sandboxed solutions and client-side object model, Windows Server Administration, .NET development, ASP.NET Development, SQL Server 2008/2012 Administration and Development (required), SharePoint Designer, other UI design tool experience
* Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field (or has equivalent work experience) preferred
* Typically has prior experience in multiple IT disciplines with a proven understanding of architectural concepts (data, technical and solution), issues and trends.
* Familiar with architecture frameworks such as TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework).
* Requires advanced to expert level knowledge and understanding of architecture, applications systems design and integration with a detailed understanding of applicable programming methodologies.
* Extensive experience using a systems analysis and design methodology and an excellent understanding of industry trends and tools.
