The Lean Leader will lead kaizen activities in the shop to support Safety, Quality, Delivery Cost and Morale priorities.
•Live, promote and teach the GE Production System philosophy and drive continuous improvement in the technical process areas.
•Coach and develop team leaders to ensure standard work and escalation processes are followed
•Implement GPS to reduce all types of process waste as needed to meet business goals.
•Engage cross functional teams (Plant Leadership, Union, Maintenance, workforce, etc.) to drive timely implementation of all Lean activities (AWO, Consultant Led workshops, KPO, etc.)
•Develop value stream maps for the organization and eliminate process waste through implementation of lean techniques.
•Guide plant teams/KPO in developing and executing lean improvements to reduce wasted motions, bottlenecks, ergonomic issues, and other wastes to ensure a globally competitive manufacturing process.
•Coach Lean team on interpersonal and technical tools.
•Coach team leaders through production rate changes.
•Lead manpower tracking effort for AP5.
•Provide training and leadership to manufacturing employees to drive Lean in their roles.
•Provide leadership and support to energize, enhance and implement team oriented approaches to problem solving.
•Ensure good EHS practices are applied during all projects including ergonomic considerations.
•Ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization to motivate for results.
•Engineering Degree or relevant Lean experience years in high volume assembly operations.
•Minimum of Green Belt Six Sigma Certification or working knowledge of statistical process control (Six Sigma preferred).
Experience building, empowering and leading talented cross-functional teams.
•Strong analytical/problem solving skills.
Outstanding communication, presentation and leadership skills.
•Demonstrated ability to independently develop, manage and implement aggressive project plans.
•Understanding of Lean principles - Working knowledge of Toyota Production System: JIT, JIDOKA, and HEIJUNKA; Experience with tools such as SMED, 5S's, POKA-YOKE, KAN BAN, CHAKU-CHAKU.
•Proven ability to communicate complex matters in a simple, understandable format.
•Ability to build and promote organizational change management initiatives - valuing relationships, building idea/problem-solving culture.
•Exemplary energy and enthusiasm and a demonstrated ability to energize others to exceed their potential.
