FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Department of Physics at the City College of the City University of New York invites applications for the position of faculty member at the academic rank of Lecturer, with a preferred starting date of January 1, 2013. This is a tenure-bearing position. In addition to teaching undergraduate physics courses, the successful applicant will be involved in the enhancement of our undergraduate teaching labs, will undertake to strengthen our lecture demonstration capabilities and will supervise our undergraduate tutoring efforts. Advising of undergraduate physics majors will also be a component of his/her duties.

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Physics and should possess experience in teaching physics at the undergraduate level. Experience in applying for and obtaining education-related external funding is preferred.

COMPENSATION

Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
