The Legal Analyst/Filings Coordinator will support the Commercial State Filings Manager/Attorney in addressing complex regulatory issues affecting state filings and will manage the State Filings Assistants. The position will also: 1) research issues regarding state filings and commercial insurance coverages, 2) maintain the Commercial State Filings regulatory databases, 3) address issues involving policies and rates, 4) interact with state insurance departments as required, 5) create and update filing metrics, 6) maintain the Commercial State Filings calendar, and 7) be responsible for establishing filings priorities and workflows.

Job Description:
•Conduct legal/regulatory research
•Handle complex state flings regulatory issues and related projects
•Provide regulatory support to the Commercial State Filings Manager/Attorney
•Address state filings and compliance issues with colleagues in the commercial business units
•Maintain state filings regulatory databases
•Employ project management techniques to implement and maintain efficient workflows
•Manage the filing calendar
•Interact with product managers to address filing needs and priorities
•Create metrics and reports
•Supervise the State Filings Assistants
•Assist with issues raised in market conduct exams
Knowledge/Skills:
•Strong written and oral communication skills to communicate with internal and external customers
•Excellent legal research skills and the ability to apply legal and regulatory principles to coverage issues
•Working knowledge of commercial and specialty insurance coverages
•Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at one time while adhering to deadlines
•Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel; working knowledge of NILS and other regulatory research databases; knowledge of SERFF
•Project management experience
•Experience producing metrics and reports
•Management experience
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Legal/regulatory research or paralegal experience required. Experience with creating and using metrics preferred. State filings and prior insurance industry experience preferred.
