This position is responsible for professional librarian work, with primary responsibility for working with all types of electronic materials: selecting, ordering, working with vendors, managing the accompanying budgets. This includes the patron online databases, as well as ebooks and any other types of ematerials. Incumbent will be required to work some evenings and weekends.

1. Consult with selectors regarding choosing, ordering, and managing:
· Electronic books of all types
· Streaming collections (audio and video)
· Subscription databases
2. Negotiate licensing agreements and contracts with vendors for subscription databases and other electronic materials
3. Develop and maintain ongoing effective relationships with vendors of electronic materials and electronic resources
4. Oversee the electronic materials account
5. Work a regular shift on a public services desk no more than 4 hours bi-weekly
Other Duties and Responsibilities
1. Set up demonstrations of electronic products and occasional training when necessary
2. Keep the Electronic Resource policy up-to-date
3. Work with Automation Services, Front Range Community College, Library Administration, and other City offices
4. Incumbent is accountable for all duties of this job, and other projects and responsibilities may be added at the City’s discretion

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education, Experience, Skills, Formal Training, Licenses, and Certifications
Required :
· Graduation from an accredited, four-year college
· Master’s Degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program
· Experience working on a library’s integrated online system
Preferred :
· Cataloging experience
· Collection development experience
· IT background
· Work with vendors and contracts
· Spanish language skills
· Experience working with library subscription databases
· Experience working with various types of ematerials and ereaders
· Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which would provide the required knowledge and skills, may be considered.
Physical Requirements
Work performed is physical in nature, and involves sufficient physical strength and stamina to:
· Occasionally sit and stand in one area to perform customer service, and book check-out check-in; constantly standing and walking throughout a multi-level public library facility
· Frequent crouching, squatting, bending, and twisting to shelve books from floor level to above head; frequent climbing and balancing to climb stairs and use step-stools and ladders
· Constant light grasp to prepare returned and new material/books for check-out and patron use, and constant reaching at waist level to return material to proper shelves; frequent firm grasp, pinching, and fine motor skills to prepare material/books, and reaching overhead to stock books
· Constant near acuity to read computer screens, and book and shelving labels; frequent hearing to communicate with pubic, staff, and vendors
· Frequent lifting of up to forty (40) pounds from ground to waist to move returned books to check-in area; frequent lifting of up to twenty (20) pounds from ground to overhead to return books to stacks and stock supplies and material; occasional carrying of up to forty (40) pounds 200 feet to move books and material; occasional pushing/pulling of up to 150 pounds up to 200 feet with cart throughout multi-level public use library

WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is constantly performed indoors in a public library setting. This position involves high public contact and mobility throughout a public use facility.
Required Materials and Equipment
Frequent use of telephones, personal computers, databases (including on-line searching), telephones, fax machines, photocopiers, microform equipment, scanners, barcode readers, book security system equipment, and various electronic and audio-visual equipment. Regular use of personal transportation to the library's various facilities and other locations in the provision of regular library services and programs.
