• Input data and pertinent instructions into automated bindery system
• Update bindery information in serials module of integrated library system
• Complete documentation for bindery shipments
• Complete documentation for sending Lamar University theses to microfilm vendor
• Record and report statistics on bindery activity
• Deliver and retrieve incoming and outgoing library mail to campus mail center twice daily
• Sort and deliver library mail to appropriate individuals and departments
• Check in newspapers received by the library
• Develops and maintains a positive working relationship with contract bindery company and other vendors as needed
• Requests materials through Inter-library Loan to replace missing pages in books and serials
• Obtains price quotes for missing periodical issues to fill gaps in library journal holdings
• Receive Continuations and encumber and expend corresponding purchase orders and invoices in Banner and SIRSI Workflows
• Assist with departmental projects and related duties as assigned

• Works with moderate amount of direct supervision

Minimum Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Bindery and bindery company’s policies and procedures
• SirsiDynix system modules (serials check-in and Online Public Access Catalog ( OPAC ))
• Microsoft Word software program
• BANNER Purchase Order, Invoice and Vendor modules
• Spreadsheet and database programs, preferably Excel and MS Access
• E-mail
• Windows operating system
• Library policies and procedures and standard office procedures
• Copy machine, calculator and fax machine
• University employee policies and procedures

• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Locate materials using the library of Congress Classification system
• Compile records and statistics accurately
• Enter alphanumeric data using a PC or typewriter
• Understand and perform detailed oral and written procedures
• Attention to detail
• Perform routine, repetitive tasks under general supervision
• Work well with faculty, staff and colleagues
• Good customer service skills
• Explain policies and procedures in an understandable way
