Library Assistant II (PT)
The Indianapolis Public Library is currently seeking a professional Library Assistant II part-time (20 hrs/week) for our Southport Branch Library. Under direct supervision, the selected candidate will perform a variety of clerical and/or technical tasks in support of the assigned function in a manner that ensures that the Library’s public service priorities are met. Specific duties vary from checking in and out a patron, handling over-dues and fines, processing library cards, reserves and answering telephone inquiries.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Accept and process all outgoing and incoming materials from patrons in a timely manner.
Assist patrons with library card applications.
Process and shelve holds.
Prepare cash drawer, including preparation of bank deposit.
Assist patrons with questions regarding library policies and services.
High School diploma or GED
