Licensed Practical Nurse - GSNH
Responsible for performing tasks within the framework of case finding, health teaching, health counseling and provision of supportive and restorative care under the direction of a registered professional nurse or a licensed health care provider and in accordance with the commissioner's regulations (NYS Nursing Handbook); maintain the competencies required for the specific clinical area of practice and perform other tasks as assigned.
High School diploma or equivalent required. Current license in the State of New York as a Licensed Practical Nurse required. Competency in a specific clinical area preferred. Must maintain a commitment to continuing education. Knowledge of regulatory agencies and practices required. Subacute, long term care and acute care experience necessary but willing to train motivated candidate.
BLS/ACLS/AED training required and accepted from only 2 organizations:
1. American Heart Association - BLS/ACLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR & AED) Program
2. American Red Cross - CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer
No online programs from any organization will be accepted.
