Licensing Coordinator

Purpose
This position is responsible to identify, actively recruit, assess, train, and license prospective foster parents, and to provide ongoing support, assessment and retention of licensed foster parents.
Duties
• Increase available foster home capacity through ongoing public awareness/recruitment campaign
• Participate in speaking engagements in accordance with the ECA Recruitment Plan and actively recruit foster family homes
• Assists in development of an annual recruitment plan in cooperation with Licensing team members
• Conduct pre-service (MAPP) training for prospective foster families
• Complete all initial licensing activities which includes a minimum of two home visits, gathering information and assessing the families for recommendation to DCF
• Conduct all annual relicensing activities in accordance with procedures and contractual requirements
• Provide ongoing support and retention for licensed foster homes including but not limited to quarterly home visits, advocacy, training and special events honoring foster families and providing 24 hour support
• Participate in quality improvement activities, including participation and preparation of QA staffings and investigation of foster care referrals alleging violations of licensing standards and the development of corrective action plans
• Provide assistance and support for foster families and CPI's during investigations concerning possible abuse/neglect by foster parents
• Submit monthly reports on licensing activities
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date information about F.A.C. and program policies and procedures for which employees are responsible and adheres to these appropriately during the course of the job performance
• Attend and supports monthly Foster Parents Association (FPA) meetings
• Partner with placement specialists at daily meeting regarding available capacity, utilization issues and prospective matches for children needing foster placements
• Home visits occur within 48 hours of initial placement of new foster homes
• Home visits to occur within seven days if foster home is on a waiver for over five or more than two children under the age of two years
• Montly home visits assessed for families with over eight children
• Perform with appropriate supervision from supervisor
• Perform on call responsibilities on a rotating basis
• Participate in the on-going development and related activities of a comprehensive quality improvement process within the Child and Family Services division
• Tracking of all providers/foster homes through FSFN. Implementation of the Unified Home Study through FSFN on all relicensure and initial studies
Position Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required. Position requires child welfare certification, and MAPP Trainer certification, or commitment to obtain both certifications within the first 12 months of employment. Two years social service experience required.
