DESCRIPTION

Works under the direct supervision of the Workshop Supervisor as assigned. Provides instructional training to the residents. Assists residents in acquiring necessary household and survival skills for independent living. Collects data and monitors household/workshop training programs. Supervises and assists residents in completing day-to-day routine work/household chores.

Must be able to float between 2 workshops.

1 Part-time position is available.

Hours: Monday - Friday between hours of 9:00am to 2:00pm

Location: Jacksonville, AR.

DUTIES

Manages and supervises residents' active treatment program in accordance with their individual program plans, and demonstrates the skills and techniques necessary to implement individual program plans.

Is responsible for securing monthly data sheets program data collection and program training instruction. Also may be required to pick-up or deliver contract work when needed, if of age and/or have received the Pathfinder vehicle training.

Is responsible for the completion of appropriate forms and reports i.e. monthly drills, inspections, and dot cards.

Provides care and instruction for all residents in all areas of daily living and work related activities.

Assists in cleaning and maintenance of the facility.

Assists in menu preparation, shopping and cooking training, serving and conducting the
meals by demonstrating socially appropriate behavior at mealtime.

Manages residents' in appropriate behaviors in a professional manner and demonstrates the necessary skills and techniques to intervene effectively.

Is responsible for planning and preparation of all outings including necessary paperwork.

Attends meetings and training sessions as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in working with individuals with mental retardation/ developmental disabilities. Experience in household/direct care duties in a residential/health care setting. Ability to work well with others. Other job related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these qualifications.

Must have knowledge of training techniques and strategies as they apply to the developmentally disabled individual, be able to observe behavior and determine needs based on these observations; ability to interact appropriately with individuals with developmental disabilities. Must be able to operate all household and kitchen appliances for cooking and cleaning in the facility.

Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 125 pounds.

Must possess current Arkansas driver's license, have current auto liability insurance coverage, and be physically able to drive to various locations in Arkansas.
