The City of Concord is seeking team oriented people to work for the City’s Aquatic Program. Under supervision performs a variety of duties for the purpose of providing for water safety at Concord Community Pool. This includes organizing, coordinating, conducting and instructing courses in water safety as well as supervision of the community swimming pool.
Examples of Duties:
- Prevents accidents through enforcement of policies, rules, & ordinances governing the conduct of persons at a swimming pool.
- Warn patrons agaisnt dangerous practices, such as running on the pool deck or diving into shallow water.
- Following prescribed procedures in cases of emergency administers first aid & other needed forms of care.
- Develops, organizes & instructs beginning, intermediate & advanced swimming classes for all ages.
- Other duties as assigned
Education: No requirements; once hired lifeguard training and Swim Instructor Training will be provided.
Experience: Previous Lifeguarding and Swim experience a plus.
Other requirements: Minimum age 15; must be able to swim. Must be able to work early morning, evening and weekend shifts when required; be willing to participate in Lifeguard Training, provided by the City of Concord. Only those candidates who complete the course successfully will be retained. Must be able to clear TB and DOJ clearance.

The City of Concord has two municipal swimming pools, Concord Community Pool at 3501 Cowell Road, and Meadow Homes Pool, on the corner of Sunshine Street and Detroit Avenue. We are looking for dynamic, customer-friendly individuals to join our aquatics staff this summer. Applicants need not apply with certification, but upon passing the oral interview will be required to successfully complete the Ellis and Associates Lifeguard Training Course. The City of Concord provides this course to new employees at the cost of $125. The City of Concord is a client of Ellis and Associates.
