Direct supervision of production workers. Area under supervision will primarily be but not limited to the Line 1 building panels. Will also be responsible for packaging and maintenance endeavors after usual hours. Responsible for assigning work, safety, and implementing procedures and policies. Trains employees and has authority for hiring, termination, discipline and performance decisions
Assists in production of parts by personally performing any of the required operations such as positioningand setting roll form equipment, set up of laminator and foaming stations, and selection of specified material from stock.
Is able to work from Work orders, cutlists, engineered drawings, manuals, charts and verbal instructions
Responsible for maintaining product quality standards.
Assists Line 1 in production scheduling and planning in all aspects including material requirements, planning production activities and meeting delivery schedules. Suggests methods for improving production equipment, processes, or operating conditions
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed to assist in accomplishing Metl-Span goals.
Minimum 2 years experience in supervisory position; preferably in a manufacturing position
Ability to work overtime
Able to work in a hot environment
Will occasionally need to lift around 50 pounds (roller dies and rolls of plastic)
Demonstrated ability to work in a structured and goal driven production environment
Basic knowledge of production systems needed
Computer knowledge in Excel and Word is required
Good organizational and work planning skills
Experience in an ISO production environment is preferred
