Work with other Linux/UNIX admins to build, configure, patch and support numerous landscapes of physical and virtual Linux servers.
Monitor and deploy physical and virtual infrastructure
Ensure high availability of Linux systems through ongoing monitoring of performance and capacity
Compile/report/trend monthly statistics on the Linux landscape to Infrastructure management
Document and streamline existing manual processes via scripting
Follow all existing change management, incident management and compliance processes
Investigate, identify and resolve critical incidents through the use of analytical, diagnostic and troubleshooting skills and tools.
Collaborate with Global IT Infrastructure, architecture, shared services and various application teams on root-cause analysis, system build procedures, process automation and global support best practices.
Promote/support Linux best practices within local and lights-out data centers worldwide.
BS degree in Computer Science or related field.
Three to five years experience in Linus system administration, preferably RHEL or SLES
Participation in rotational 24/7 on-call operational support
Familiarity with VMware
Knowledge of HP hardware and NetApp SAN storage/fabric architecture.
Scripting skill with bash and/or Perl
Advance level troubleshooting skills to quickly resolve hardware, OS and networking issues
Experience with configuration management tools such as puppet
Ability to excel in an environment that is fast paced and constantly changing; follow the instructions of supervisors and senior colleagues.
