Agency Consulting Group is a conducting a search for a RHCE certified Linux Engineer. This engineer will be a member of an elite team providing Linux Engineering solutions to a Goverment Customer. Ideal candidate will be a confident Linux Engineer who enjoys providing creative solutions to problems and interacting extensively with the Goverment Customer.
Review and assess current Red Hat Enterprise Linux ("RHEL") and RHNSS versions and architectures.
Determine the appropriate upgrade path: in-place versus migration to new hardware.
Verify that a valid backup of the Satellite Server exists.
Perform RHEL/RHNSS upgrade to latest available version(s).
Assess proper functionality of upgraded RHNSS with embedded database based on the following:
Client systems are able to check into the RHNSS.
New client systems are able to register to the RHNSS.
Profiles can be viewed and edited.
Provisioning functions properly.
Updates can be successfully scheduled
RHNSS environment integration and refresh:
Evaluate existing RHNSS architecture. Document areas for improvement or change which will have a positive impact on capability on usability.
Update the Satellite system with the latest errata and any enhancements.
Configure at least one (1) RHEL client machine for connection to Satellite Server.
Demonstrate registration and update of at least one (1) RHEL client system to Satellite Server.
Create one (1) or more custom channels and populate with custom packages.
Demonstrate the system configuration on client systems and access to custom channels.
Demonstrate new features available in Satellite including Cobbler integration and Mulit-org functionality.
Provide mentoring for future customization of channels and the respective synchronization.
At least (7) years experience Linux System Administration
Must possess Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification
Experience with RH Satellite Server
TS/SCI with Polygraph
