Logistics Supervisor - Manufacturing

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?
In your role as a Logistics Supervisor at Kellogg, you will be part of our success by:
Manage the performance of, motivate, train and develop receiving department (and possibly stock & supply) employees in accordance with the labor agreement, if applicable, on all shifts.
Coordinate receipt of materials with purchasing, including scheduling inbound raw and packaging materials, supervising the unloading process, entering materials into SAP and possibly staging materials for production in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, company policies and procedures.
Lead and coordinate daily, weekly, period, quarterly and year-end packaging and raw materials inventories. Assist in reconciling variances and identifying critical inventory levels.
Ensure proper material rotation, disposition of held/rejected materials and disposal of waste materials per DOT and EPA guidelines, where applicable.
Generate rejected, obsolete and trial material status report once per period.
Lead and coordinate the sanitation and maintenance of oil rooms, silo room and various raw and packaging warehouses and coolers. Coordinate with production and sanitation departments for proper emptying of bulk raw materials for routine tank cleaning.
Prepares shippers and bills of lading to accompany vendor returns and/or interbakery transfers of raw and packaging materials.
May also receive/send non-production goods/packages, such as express carrier deliveries.
Any and all other duties assigned.
WHAT DO I NEED TO DEMONSTRATE?
As well as a hunger to learn and succeed in Logistics, to be considered for this position you must be able to meet the following requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and related experience, OR
• High School Diploma/GED and frequently demonstrated related work experience
• Experience in a Supervisory role and a proven ability to effectively manage people
• Effective communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage complexity
• Proficiency with computers, and computer software including Microsoft Office applications
• Strong problem solving ability
• Ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization
Must be knowledgeable of DOT and EPA regulations related to receiving.
• Experience with SAP
• Food & Beverage industry experience
• Experience participating in lean manufacturing events and managing lean project initiatives
• Purchasing and inventory control experience helpful.
WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO KNOW?
You must be willing to work up to four 12-hour shifts per week, commencing following the initial on-boarding/training. This position may require work coverage beyond the normal hours and shift, and on weekends/holidays, because the plant typically operates 24/7.
