Assist in developing, implementing and maintaining Loss Prevention and Safety Program to maintain a safe and secure environment for all associates, merchandise, monies, properties and all other assets within the limitation of company policy.

Responsibilities

Management

- Assist in development and implementation of training program for Loss Prevention Associates

- Supervise Loss Prevention Associates (Contractual and proprietary)

- Develop weekly schedules and maintain appropriate facility coverage

- Assist in development and maintaining of departmental expense budget

- Prevent, detect and deter losses and safety violations

- Develops and presents monthly safety topics for associates and management

- Maintains all Training / Records for Powered Industrial Equipment Program

- Enforce loss prevention and safety policies and procedures

- Oversees the fire inspections, safety walk-thrus, safety and housekeeping inspections

- Develops and distributes monthly report on safety and housekeeping inspection

- Conduct new hire orientations on loss prevention and safety issues

- Maintain access systems

- Co-chair facility Safety Committee

- Coordinates first aid training

- Networks with local industry on safety/ loss prevention issues

- Installs internal cameras utilized in conducting investigations

- Conducts interviews and interrogations

- Responds to alarms

- Conducts BAT (breath alcohol testing) as part of Substance Abuse Program

- Coordinates inspections as needed for Sprinkler Systems, Alarms, Halon system and Extinguishers

- Special projects as directed by LP Manager

Organizational

- Coordinate duties of the Loss Prevention Representatives

- Demonstrates ability to perform multiple on-going responsibilities

- Maintains detailed and accurate records involving incidents, accidents, investigations

- Ability to prioritize

- Ability to adapt to a changing environment

- Present new ideas & open to accept new ways of streamlining the position

- Ability to address situations in a timely manner

Communication

- Communicates in a timely manner with departmental and facility management

- Conducts safety and loss prevention training for LP staff, associates and management

- Prepares and distributes required reporting

- Participates in meetings, conference calls with management as scheduled

Qualifications

- 4 year degree and/or 3-5 years job related experience required

- Supervisory experience required

- Ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written

- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word

- Flexible and adaptable
