This position is responsible for monitoring drivers in the safe moving, staging and parking of vehicles from and to the Auto Auction, on Auction property and off site at customers’ locations in compliance with Auction safety rules and regulations.
Drive vehicles to and from designated areas on Auction premises, as well as pick-up and deliver vehicles to and from the Auction or shuttling off site, while observing Auction driving rules, the Uniform Vehicle Code, rules of the road and demonstrating courtesy and defensive driving principles.
If necessary, inflate tires and jump start vehicles using a battery box and air tank.
Notify supervisor when a vehicle is inoperative.
Maintain gas logs w/receipts
Assist in training new drivers by providing on the job training.
Coordinate with other crew chiefs to ensure efficiency of movements.
Maintain assigned equipment, keeping vans clean and serviced as required.
Ensure drivers turn in completed and accurate transportation requests with updated and verified VINs.
Complete new car delivery sheet for mass shuttles with VIN and driver number.
If necessary, facilitate strapping of flat rack vehicles at Young Brothers.
Complete additional paperwork associated w/pickups i.e. RCL and other condition reports, vehicle exception sheets.
Trouble call stalled or incapacitated vehicles.
Communicate to manager any violations of company policy by drivers or other employees while on the road.
Assist customers (i.e., dealers, account representatives, rental agencies, etc.) and co-workers as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor.
May be required to work overtime (more than 40 hours per week) as business needs dictate.
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous Auction and/or driving experience helpful.
Previous supervisory experience preferred.
Valid Driver’s License and safe driving record required.
Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.

Constantly required to enter and exit vehicles.
Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time. Ability to walk long distances. Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear.
Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat and climb.
Ability to lift 1-15 pounds. Vision abilities required include close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
Moderate noise level.
