Earbits, a Y Combinator company, is looking for an experienced lead developer to work on the Earbits.com music discovery and artist marketing platform.
Earbits is Google Adwords for music, an online radio platform where record labels, bands and concert promoters bid on a pay-per-listen basis for radio airtime and use the exposure to acquire fans and market their promotions. Investors include Y Combinator, Charles River Ventures, former Lala CEO Goeff Ralston, and Wordpress founder Matt Mullenweg.
Earbits is empowering artists, creating real, tangible value, and further eliminating the need for artists to have big budgets and expensive PR efforts to get exposure to quality fans. We are displacing the need for bands to use display and text advertising for their audio products by turning streaming music airtime into a commodity and marketplace. Come help us do for music what Google Adwords has done for nearly every other industry.
About the Role
Earbits has historically been a radio-style service with over 200 channels to pick from. We’re now expanding to include an on-demand service where users can get access to whole albums for free in exchange for joining bands' mailing lists, promoting them or purchasing music and merchandise. Our new developer will lead the charge in integrating this new experience, along with upcoming additions of embedded video, more personalized music recommendations and more.
$80-140k annually plus 1-2% equity.
