JOB PURPOSE:
To assist with the maintenance and repair of mill machinery as necessary for it to be in optimal working condition.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform skilled preventative and predictive maintenance functions

Perform basic equipment repairs.

Confer with Maintenance Supervisor on complex issues

Perform other duties as necessary

Assists millwright with maintenance and repair of mill machinery and building structure

Lubricates mill machinery on a relief basis

Operates mobile equipment to move materials

Keeps work area clean

Required to enter complete and detailed Maintenance Work Requests and Safety Work Request as well as Daily Downtime into the EAM Program (Condition of employment when assigned to this position).

Be familiar with JHA, JSA, Job Process Maps and Environmental Management System for this position.

Responsible for complete and accurate recordkeeping.

Responsible for understanding and adhering to all environmental policies and procedures including: spill response, general waste disposal and hazardous material handling procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITIES:
Possess knowledge, demonstrate competency in, and obey all applicable company, state, and federal safety policies, standards and regulations when working as a Louisiana-Pacific Corporation employee.

Possess the ability and desire to follow all safety rules, policies, standards and constantly demonstrate safe work practices while performing all job duties.

Knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance functions

Knowledge of maintenance equipment and tools

Time management and prioritizing skills

Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and written repair manuals

Ability to utilize the EAM Program

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

2 years post-secondary education or on-the-job training in a related field

2 – 5 years’ general maintenance experience required

Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.

LP forklift / manlift / crane certified training

Shop certification for welding

Ability to operate Mig, brazing equipment, cutting equipment, hand and power tools

Knowledge of various mill machinery

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Plant environment

Outdoor work subject to seasonal climate change

Standing 90% of the time

Some lifting and kneeling

Potential eye strain when brazing and welding
