The manager leads the Environmental Services department and is responsible for its operational, financial and administrative functions. The Manager develops strategies and processes to improve environmental quality, including infection prevention and service delivery systems to meet the Mission and annual goals of Exempla Good Samaritan Medical Center.

Builds effective teams - Retains and develops organizational talent
Builds key relationships with Clinical Mangers and Directors
Builds a customer-oriented, patient-centered organization
Is a “catalyst” for change in the organization
Creates tools and designs processes that reduce variability in work flow and production
Plans for and introduces new, value-added services or improvements
Establishes operational and financial accountability systems
Introduces tools that monitor and measure performance improvement
Ensures compliance with regulatory agency requirements, including
Conducts tours of department for regulatory agencies, internal audit, JCAHO, etc
Prepares annual department budget
Prepares monthly statistical and operation reports
Tracks and manages department expenses within budget allowances
Prepares staffing schedules and meets productivity standards
Leads by example, communicates and enforces Exempla’s Service Behaviors and Compliance program
Monitors compliance with department orientation and training programs
Monitors environment through compliance inspections and rounding

    -Bachelor’s degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management, Healthcare Administration, Business or related field or equivalent years of experience
    -Three years progressive management experience as EVS Manager in acute care or long-term care setting
    -At least six years experience in relevant field.


    -Prefer bilingual English and Spanish.
    -Experience in training, work redesign, and process improvement helpful.
