Description
Job Description: This position is a Sr. Hardware Applications Engineer within the Customer Technology Solutions organization in the Mobile Communications Group.
The successful candidate will perform architectural and detailed enabling of OEM/ODM hardware level designs for Tablets and Mobile Devices. Key responsibilities include advanced engagement with lead customers to enable mobile designs, develop enabling collateral/design documentation, driving customer issue replication and resolution, provide design training, performing detailed review and optimization of schematics and layout, as well as physical verification/debug/characterization of OEM/ODM platforms. The successful candidate should have significant experience with Schematic Capture Tools as well as experience working with Board Layout packages. Previous experience in Small Form Factor communications design, while not essential, is desirable. Candidates should also have Systems experience and be able to understand Thermal and Mechanical implications in addition to hardware design. Previous experience of working with Third parties is desirable.
Qualifications
Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering with 7+ years of HW and /or Systems development experience, including
Experience bringing new computer platforms to launch with production quality
Previous experience working with OEMs/ODMs in enabling designs from concept to production
Solid understanding of the Tablet/Phone and Communications market and technologies
