Must be a current UMN undergraduate student. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Must know how to navigate the internet (use search engines, send emails.) Basic knowledge of Adobe Acrobat Suite. Strong oral and written communication skills. Basic spelling abilities. Ability to proofread. Ability to learn new tasks quickly.

Preferred Qualifications: Available to work over winter, spring and summer breaks. Previous experience working in an office setting. A communications or engineering major. Strong command of Gmail and Gmail calendars.

Duties/Responsibilities
Provide support to Program Director and Program Coordinator in an office setting. Duties include: formatting letters, spreadsheets, templates, email messages, organizing events (meetings and conferences), general administrative duties (copying, editing, running errands), supporting Innovation Fellows with supply/food ordering and expense reports, aiding with office and lab organization, preparing and editing of communications materials (emails, brochures, and web pages.)

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Minnesota performs research and provides high-quality graduate and undergraduate education in a wide range of mechanical engineering areas, including energy, bio-medical devices, environmental engineering, transportation, design, controls and sensors, thermal sciences, and nanomanufacturing.
