Temporary Float Pool Medical Assistant

General Summary:
The Float Pool Temporary Medical Assistant will work under the direction of the Staffing Coordinator and Office manager.

This position is responsible for

greeting, instructing, directing and scheduling patients and visitors.

This position will w

ork in all areas of the front office, performing patient registration, scheduling of appointments and s

erve as liaison between patient and medical support staff.

The benefits of working in a temporary position in the Float Pool are: the ability to explore over 110 Physician Practices, network and make an impression on colleagues, and gain invaluable experience. This temporary Receptionist position is ideal for candidates who would like to work around their own schedules and who do not want to make a long term commitment to any one assignment.

This temporary position will work on a per diem basis and will be notified for assignments as needed.

Temporary Float employees have the option to accept or not accept assignments when given, which allows employees the freedom to select where and when they want to work.

Temporary Float Pool employees are eligible to apply for any other internal part time or full time positions at any time.

This Temporary position will not have a guaranteed set of hours per pay period and is not eligible for benefits.

Flexibility and adaptability to change are requirements for a temporary employee.

Knowledge and Skills Required:
Ability to learn new policies and procedures and implement effectively

Ability to be flexible and adapt

Must like a changing environment

Ability to step in and be a team player immediately

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, patients, and the public.

Able to obtain accurate temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, height and weight.

Maintain and administer prescribed medications

Computer knowledge and experience

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Required Education/Experience:
High school graduate or GED

Graduate of recognized Medical Assistant program

Must have 6 months of MA experience

Must be willing to Float to different Specialty Practices

Must have reliable transportation

Must have the ability to respond to assignment notifications in a timely manner

Licensure, Certification, and Registration:

Medical Assistant Certification REQUIRED for all Temporary Float Staff


CPR Certification
