The primary functions of this position are to provide staff support for coding of charges with CPT, and ICD-9, and HCPCS, to be a resource for the physicians, and other health care providers in regard to coding and to review medical chart documentation to insure appropriate physician billing
Medical Charge Entry Representative:
Reviews charge tickets for completeness, enters error corrections and adjustments for online processing to patient accounts as well as updating patient files
Position main focus will be "Medical Accounts Receivable Specialist"
The selected candidate will have experience:
-2-3 years experience in medical billing and collection field.
-Working denials and filing appeals.
-Experience following Medicare, Medicaid and commercial insurance carrier rules and regulations.
-Reading EOB's (Explanation of Benefits) and verifying payments are correct.
-Must be able to multi task and work high volume of accounts.
- Professional skills in dealing with health care insurance and patient calls.
Preferred RHIA, CCS-P, RHIT or CPC Certification
High School graduate or equivalent
