Position Summary

This position requires proficient knowledge in elementary math and ELA content and curriculum development. The Elementary Content Manager will work on the following products: Performance Series, Achievement Series.

Key Duties / Responsibilities

- Essential duties are identified by asterisks. Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

Oversee writing of questions and/or passages and questions, including development, in-house editing, and out-sourced editing projects. Own all content that is assigned to you for designated projects.

Manage scheduling related to all projects, including time estimates, time-lines, and workload distribution for yourself, any direct reports, and any consultants you are working with.

Oversee a team of outside consultants (which can include hiring), maintain a budget, and track all projects.

Assist with correlation and alignment projects.

Communicate on a weekly basis with Director of Content Services or other project lead in the forms of progress reports and meetings.

When applicable, manage all data in the form of FoxPro databases, Excel spreadsheets, Access databases, and Crystal Reports. Organize this data in an easily accessible manner for the department.

Exhibit proficiency in FoxPro, MS Word, Crystal Reports, MS Excel, Paint Shop Pro, and Corel.

Exhibit proficiency and maintain in-house tools - Align-It, AB Assessable Standards Tool, TTP, and AS Item Editor.

Remain current on educational news surrounding testing, curriculum development, and content area issues.

Analyze statistical data/embedded data in order to develop Performance Series test items and CAGs (curriculum alignment guides).

Keep track of statistical embedding and editing changes made to data over time.

Participate in developing processes for AS Benchmark Assessment Services.

Train consultants on how to develop items for Achievement Series.

Facilitate trainings at district sites throughout the country on how to develop high quality items.

Hire new team members, as necessary. Train all new employees on tasks related to all products for the content area.

Maintain familiarity with CAT/IRT model and content related issues with the testing engine.

Education & Knowledge Required

Bachelors in Mathematics, English Language Arts, or Education (as long as there is strong content knowledge in elementary math and ELA)

Professional Teacher Certificate in elementary education with 3-5 years teaching experience in elementary education

Masters in Education a plus

Middle school experience a plus

Experience / Skills / Abilities Required

Strong PC skills, including knowledge of current administrative software for handling word-processing, spreadsheets, and other tasks to perform job efficiently

Must possess an excellent command of the English language.

Requires excellent oral and written communication skills.

Requires the ability to read and interpret documents such as software manuals and operating instructions, and procedure manuals.

Requires must have the ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and group situations, both to customers and other employees of the organization.

Proficient with all basic math functions demonstrating the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Requires the knowledge to compute, rate and percentage, margin and discounts, and demonstrate proficiency using a 10 key touchpad.

Ability to interpret a variety of math related instructions provided in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Ability to use typical keyboard functions and type 35WPM with no more than a 5% error rate. Experienced in the use standard office equipment, including copiers, fax machines, phone systems and components, voice mail, email, and any other telecommunication or technology devices that are integral to the workplace.
