We have an exciting opportunity for a Mid-Level Systems Engineer in our Software Engineering Department.
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for the design of test cables and wire harnesses that interconnect electronic equipment within the vehicle. Responsible for generating lab system cable interconnect diagrams, point-to-point cable wiring schematics, cable lengths, routing details, and cable BOMs. Responsible for integration tests to verify functional operation. Responsible for generating test fixtures designs, lab user guides and test procedures for system level avionics test.
Design of test cables and wire harness for interconnection of simulation equipment to the aircraft avionics and ground control station. Specification and documentation of hardware and commercial software for test equipment to include rack mount computers, I/O expanders, interface cards. Coordination with technicians and engineering labs to get materials ordered and hardware built up and sustained Specification and selection of equipment used for switching, fiber optic, RF, serial and Ethernet signaling between multiple suites of equipment General initial documentation and sustainment of hardware use and lab configurations
Maintaining laboratory layout diagrams Support of equipment configuration management and material inventory Generation of Engineering Change Requests, attending and fielding change related questions at Change Control Board (CCB) meetings Off-hours lab support as needed Reviewing test plans and test set-ups to ensure the labs can support proposals Coordination with facilities organizations to have alterations done to support lab infrastructure upgrades
