We have an exciting opportunity for a Mid-Level Systems Integration Engineer in our Mechanical Engineering Department.

Duties & Responsibilities

Under general supervision and with regular review, this position Interfaces with electrical, mechanical, and project engineers to support or incorporate system level requirements for payload integration into Unmanned Air Vehicles. Support system level layout and design of payload integration using engineering principles to insure proper fit and function structurally, mechanically, electrically, and thermally when exposed to various environments.

Perform detailed design layout, analysis tasks, and detail level drawings to insure that hardware meets all requirements.

Interface with design and drafting personnel to obtain resources for detail design and drawing release.

Establish bill of materials.

Establish and track project schedules.

Interface with shop personnel to obtain resources and priorities to meet program schedule.

Establish or support the testing requirements for completed systems.

Perform various mechanical design tasks related to demonstrated competencies as directed. Design and fabricate first article flight hardware.


Experience with structural mechanical design of hardware and mounting structure for payload integration at a system level in aircraft.

Experienced with prototype part design and build working with machine and fabrication shop.

Experienced with design and fabrication of composite fairings, radomes, and associated tooling.

Hands-on mechanical engineering knowledge and skill.

Broad understanding of engineering principles.

Thorough understanding of drawing requirements.

Must be team oriented, self motivated, and responsible.

Bachelors or Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Experience with the design of payload integration for aircraft in a small company environment.

Experience with design and fabrication of lightweight, high performance external stores.

Working understanding with ProE
