This position is a part of the Softwood Lumber Southern Engineering Team and reports to the Southern Lumber Engineering Team Leader. This is a full-time, exempt position and will provide primary engineering support to the Softwood Lumber facilities located in Philadelphia, MS, Millport, AL, and Bruce, MS.
The successful candidates work closely with mill leadership teams, technical team members, external contractors and vendors to safely and efficiently implement capital and pool projects within budgetary guidelines. In addition the work includes non capital improvement projects. The successful candidates should be willing to work in a true team environment with a constant slate of projects being implemented at multiple locations. The successful candidates will need to possess excellent organizational skills to manage daily priorities and exceptional leadership skills for successful capital and pool project installations. The successful candidates should lead and facilitate the capital execution processes while organizing and documenting all required records. The positions are instrumental in advising area leaders in technology enhancements needed to improve operating performance and supporting process reliability improvement and strategies.
Demonstrated personal commitment to safety Must possess a degree in Engineering from an accredited university, and a minimum of five years of progressive mechanical engineering experience in multi-million dollar projects. Candidate should have knowledge of safe work practices in an industrial environment industrial equipment theory and operation project management scheduling, and purchasing contractor management A working knowledge of ACAD and Microsoft Office Suite is required. Knowledge of and experience leading process reliability practices Extensive travel as projects warrant Wood products and specifically previous lumber experience preferred.
