Title: Vitamin and Body Care Customer Service Specialist
Employment Classification: Full-time Regular Employee/Non-exempt
Reports To: Store Manager
Location: Mission Trace Store Only
Job Summary
The Vitamin and Body Care Customer Service Specialist is responsible for providing “world class” customer service to customers, primarily in the Vitamin and Body Care departments. This position is also responsible for some MOD responsibilities.
Responsibilities

Customer Service:
The Vitamin and Body Care Customer Service Specialist is responsible for ensuring that:
1. Customer service is the number one priority.
2. Customers are greeted and serviced per company standards of World Class customer service.
3. Customer complaints are handled appropriately and per company policy.

4. The departments are inviting and shopable:
a. displays are shopable;
b. the departments are clean;
c. merchandising is inviting;
d. all products in displays are in-stock on the shelf.
5. Special orders are handled appropriately and per company policy.

Product Knowledge:
The Vitamin and Body Care Customer Service Specialist is responsible for ensuring that:
He/she continues to increase product knowledge throughout their tenure, including:
a.trainings;
b.using products to know what they are like.
He/she answers customer questions per company standards and policies, including the use of Structure/Function statements and/or statements of nutritional support.
He/she knows what store resources to use to answer customer questions, including:
books;
Customer Literature Files;
company/vendor product information.
Tagging, Facing, Rotating, Ordering, Cleanliness, Stocking, Backstock, and Returns:
The Vitamin and Body Care Customer Service Specialist is responsible for ensuring that he/she is:
1. Following company policies, procedures and standards for tagging, including:
a. hanging price tag updates daily;
b. hanging sales signs;
c. following all inspection guidelines.
2. Following company policies, procedures and standards for facing, including:
a. deep facing;
b. following all inspection guidelines.
3. Following company policies, procedures and standards for rotating, including:
a. checking for short-dated product and what to do if product comes in with a short date;
b. ensuring that product with the shortest expiration date is in the front, followed by the next date, etc. If two or more rows, product with the shortest expiration date is in the front on all rows followed by the next date, etc;
c. following all inspection guidelines.
5. Following company policies, procedures and standards for cleanliness, including:
a. ensuring that backstock areas are neat organized and cleaned regularly;
b. following all inspection guidelines.
6. Following company policies, procedures and standards for stocking, including:
a. ensuring that all product is stocked to UPC code;
b. backstock tags are used appropriately and per company policies and standards;
c. following all inspection guidelines.
7. Following company policies, procedures and standards for backstock, including:
a. following all inspection guidelines;
b. ensuring that no product is in backstock without being stocked in the front;
c. backstock is neat, organized and labeled per company standards;
d. backstock area is cleaned regularly.
8. Following company policies, procedures and standards for returns.
9. Learns and maintains Shelf-Tag Dotting System

MOD (Manager on Duty) Responsibilities:
The Vitamin and Body Care Customer Service Specialist is responsible for the following MOD duties:
1. Responds to cashier needs for manager over-rides.
2. Ensures that customers are waited on in a timely manner and per company standards of excellence in customer service.
3. Responds to calls and handles customer complaints as needed and per company policies.
4. Responds to calls and handles customer returns as needed and per company policies.
5. Covers cashier lunch breaks.
Although this is a general outline of job responsibilities all employees are expected to be “hands on” and do whatever it takes to get the job done and make the company thrive.

Qualifications:
1-2 years experience in retail and/or related experience.
Previous experience in natural foods and products is a plus.
Possesses excellent customer service skills.
Must be cashier trained.

Physical Requirements:
Must have the ability to lift 50 lbs, repetitive lifting up to 30 lbs.
Must be able to carry up to 50 lbs.
Requires the use of both arms and both hands with full range of motion.
Must be able to bend at the waist and knees, twist, push and pull.
Must be able to kneel, squat, and climb as needed.
Must be able to reach overhead and away from the body.
Must be able to stand for at least 90% of the time.
Must be able to walk for at least 90% of the time.
