The primary purpose of this position is to maintain and repair production equipment on all levels, keeping down time to a minimum. Providing a safe working environment and practicing safe working habits is also performed by this position.
Essential Job Duties:
§ Repairs various mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems and components (e.g. cylinders, valves, drives, etc.) installed on production machines.
§ Troubleshoot and diagnose problems and or failures of automated equipment and initiates repair.
§ Adjusts and replaces various electrical sensors used for proper operation of assembly machine.
§ Performs preventative maintenance and cleaning of equipment on special runs to ensure safe reliable operation and makes suggestions for improvement.
§ Performs machine changeovers and replaces tooling as needed.
§ Open/close facility; start-up/shut down equipment.
§ Uses metal working equipment such as powered hand tools, calipers, micrometers, dial indicators and non CNC lathe or mill to fabricate parts needed for construction or repair of production equipment.
§ Performs welding and fabrications on machine.
§ Handles some spill responses and pest control as needed.
§ Changeover to generator power in emergency situations,
§ Rigging and moving of machinery as needed.
§ Reads and interprets equipment manuals, drawings and schematics.
§ Compiles with company safety rules in completion of all tasks.
§ Other duties as assigned
Education & Skills Required:
Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two year technical school or three to six years’ experience repairing PLC controlled equipment required.
Three to five years manufacturing industry experience required. Automotive manufacturing industry experience preferred.
Technical background in machine operation of pneumatics, ladder logic, basic electrical systems, and operation of PLC equipment. Welding and machinery experience a plus.
