Areas of Responsibility
Performs set-up and operation of assigned lathe or mill machine/s.
Performs preventative maintenance and diagnostics on the lathe and/or mill machines as needed and required.
Reports all deviations in proper machine performance to employee’s direct supervisor, other shop supervisor, and/or Machine Maintenance personnel (when warranted).
Advises and consults with direct supervisor, and/or shop supervisor as applicable, for tools and tooling needed to complete turning projects.
Maintains fixtures and set-ups for use in specified projects as assigned by direct supervisor in conjunction with other shop supervisor when applicable.
Supports and maintains overall shop efficiency by keeping work areas clean and safe. Checks hoppers, filters, bags and machines daily; wiping down outside, washing down inside, cleaning conveyor belts and other areas as needed.
Inspects and documents all operations per TAPS procedures as stated in the Quality Manual as well as per specifications of the product engineer, project manager, and direct supervisor.
Skills, Experience, & Education
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience in a manufacturing/production environment
Experience running CNC lathes and mills helpful
Requires basic computer skills
Good math skills
Knowledge of measuring equipment helpful
