Under general supervision of assigned supervisor, functions in a variety of mail, messenger and supply areas in support of department operations.

  • Operates and maintains complex mailroom equipment such as: six station Inserter with Mail Management system, Paragon Mail Processor, various models of Xerographic machines, folders, paper cutters and bindery
  • Functions as messenger (inside and outside of the building) as required in implementing mailroom services
  • Prepares and maintains required mailroom reports and forms as required; receives, verifies and stores incoming supplies and materials, informing supervisor of inventory needs and initiating orders as necessary
  • Organizes and plans own work in accordance with Agency procedures
  • May train new employees and assign work to messengers of mailroom helpers, directing them in the proper performance of their tasks

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • One of more years of experience in responsible postal, clerical or stock work
  • Mechanical knowledge and dexterity appropriate to position responsibilities
  • Requires standing, squatting, knee bending, reaching, ability to transport deliveries and lift up to 50 lbs.
