Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope™, a division of Oldcastle, is the leading supplier of products specified to close the building envelope. They include: custom-engineered curtain wall and window wall, architectural windows, storefront systems, doors, skylights and architectural glass.
Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope™ is a manufacturer of architectural glass products. We are located in Hauppauge (Long Island), New York and have an opportunity for a hands on Maintenance Manager . Ideal candidate will have electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, circuit control wiring, variable frequency drives (VFD), and total preventative maintenance (TPM) experience.
Repair of equipment, planning predictive and preventive maintenance (TPM) for all equipment and buildings and support the installation of new equipment.
Scheduling the maintenance staff. Managing the maintenance team across shifts and weekends.
Minimize downtime in all departments by preventing failure through planning ahead. To accomplish this, it is imperative to be well versed in all the tools of preventive and predictive maintenance (daily, weekly, quarterly, annual inspections and routine work, weekly planning meetings, creating work prioritization reports and spreadsheets that your team will use). In addition, the use of diagnostic tools such as the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) is required to determine what equipment is failing, the cause of the failure, and the frequency of the failure. This data needs to be collected and reports generated and provided to plant management to determine where the largest sources of downtime are to eliminate that source. Tracking rework or repeated and redundant repairs is also necessary.
Ensure that the maintenance team works diligently, around the clock as required, to address equipment downtime/failure regardless of the hour of the day or weekend.
Work closely with the Production Manager to schedule work that is required by the maintenance team to optimize productivity. In addition, consult with the production manager to determine work that can be done by production to maximize the use of the maintenance team. In this capacity the maintenance manager will also work with outside services to do the work that the Maintenance Department cannot complete effectively. This would also include internally working with the Production Staff to coordinate down time needed for repairs or PM’s as required by these vendors.
Determine critical spare parts required, by piece of equipment, by department, and ensure that they are in stock.
Manage the maintenance team to retain top performers. Mentor and coach to train or improve performance, document poor performance and create performance improvement plans for poor performers. The Maintenance Manager is also responsible to hire new staff and terminate poor performers based on the needs and performance of the department.
Minimum 5 years maintenance management experience in a manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma
