The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for maintaining the physical condition of buildings and utilities throughout Greens Port.
Primary job duties include:
Directs, maintains and enforces a safe work environment; appropriate safety and environmental systems/processes are utilized, and ensure compliance with all OSHA and other state/federal safety and environmental related rules and regulations.
Monitor tool and part inventories and the condition of the maintenance shops to ensure adequate safe working conditions.
Manage and supervise team members work levels in a fair and consistent manner to ensure compliance with personnel, Watco company policies, procedures and environmental & safety rules and provide appropriate feedback and/or disciplinary measures as needed.
Maintain and comply with all other Watco company procedures as applicable for your assigned area of responsibility.
Provide a clean and organized work environment.
Ensure that each team member understands the safety requirements for the job, has demonstrated knowledge of the safety requirement, and can apply the knowledge in practical situations.
Ensure that each team member understands the quality requirements for the job, has demonstrated knowledge of the quality requirement, and can apply the knowledge in practical situations.
Inspect the team members final work to ensure the work conforms to Watco requirements.
Manage, coach and mentor team members to ensure continuous improvement according to the management process.
Ensures the safety and efficiency of the work, and minimize downtime and indirect labor
Measure and monitor safety, and quality of work performed.
Oversees and works directly with building repairs and renovations, including electrical, plumbing, construction and painting.
Hands-on supervisor of up to 10 maintenance laborers and ability to assign and monitor job tasks to the maintenance laborers.
Responsible for utility systems and services to ensure proper operation.
Interact with all employees for any building related work or repairs.
Coordinate with the Facility Manager for scheduling/repairing building systems.
Make recommendations for project improvements and or/major repairs or replacements.
Take corrective action whenever deficiencies are reported.
Ensure Watco company procedures and policies are enforced.
Initiate, conduct and oversee training activities concerning preventive maintenance and equipment operation.
Discipline and conduct performance evaluations for team members.
Any other job related task as assigned by Facility Manager.
7+ years supervisory experience in facilities maintenance & industrial park environment.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Hands on experience with electrical, plumbing and related operational systems.
Ability to perform activities requiring physical effort.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be a person of high integrity with an excellent work ethic
Ability to be flexible & available in the event work is required in the evenings or weekends and in the event of any emergency.
A minimum of high school diploma/GED with additional training in management processes a bonus.
