Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Coral Gables operates under a commission/manager form of government and is well known for its active and involved citizenry. The Maintenance Worker II performs semi-skilled work in landscape maintenance and maintenance of the Venetian Pool facility. Requires familiarity with best practices in landscape and pool maintenance and the ability to operate various pieces of equipment and vehicles. Oversees all chlorination, circulation and general pool maintenance at the Venetian Pool. Cleans and disinfects all Venetian Pool facility restrooms to ensure that proper sanitary conditions are met each day. Work is assigned, reviewed by inspection, and performed under the direction of a supervisor. May assist foremen in training Maintenance Worker I’s. This position requires familiarity with basic trade practices in landscape maintenance, landscaping, pool maintenance, and the ability to operate various pieces of equipment and vehicles. High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum six (6) months experience in landscape maintenance or installation.
Valid Florida Class B Commercial Drivers License.
A comparable amount of training or experience may be substituted for the high school diploma. The CDL Class B requirement may be waived for up to 90 days at the discretion of the Department Head; but must be obtained by the end of the 90 days.
