The Managed
Care Liaison (MCL) will serve as the field based scientific expert with
specific responsibility for population/value based healthcare decision makers
within the managed health care environment. The role of the Managed Care
Liaison is to establish scientific and professional credibility with key
external stakeholders via scientific and educational exchange focusing on the
value of AVEO products as well as disease states relating to those
products. The MCL will serve as the
principal resource for scientific, pharmacoeconomic, and outcomes research
support within this vital customer segment focusing on Payer Groups, Managed
Care Organizations, Pharmacy Benefit Managers, MD Networks and Government Entities. The successful candidate will also actively
contribute to the establishment of policies related to the role, key customer
identification and strategy development as well as tactical planning and

Identify, develop and maintain
credible relationships with key medical, pharmacy, and health outcomes thought
Provide timely, fair balanced,
objective, scientific and economic information and education to health care
customers, managed markets/healthcare/payer systems, and internal business
partners as required by business need
Work cross functionally with medical
colleagues and the Health Systems Account Team to coordinate the proper response
to match identified external needs
Facilitate the development, placement,
execution and completion of appropriate clinical, health outcome, and
population focused health management studies within compliance guideline
Provide innovative input and support
to Key Opinion Leaders and internal teams that result in the creation of best
practice disease management, population health, and health economic models
Ensure capture and reporting of unmet
medical needs expressed by key external customers to internal stakeholders in
support of optimal AVEO product value messaging
Facilitate the analysis, planning,
implementation, evaluation and tailoring of field programs and initiatives to
meets the needs within the managed healthcare environment
Identification and implementation of
unique and impactful national and regional business opportunities that meet the
overall business objectives
Anticipate and identify challenges and
opportunities of new product development in the managed markets environment

PharmD, PhD or MD required
Oncology experience
Minimum five years
experience in the pharmaceutical industry, public health sector or managed care
environment OR
Minimun five years
experience in the pharmaceutical industry functioning in a field based managed
markets/health outcomes role with demonstrated partnering with MSL teams as
well as Commercial Account Management Teams
Strong scientific, disease
management, evidence based medicine, pharmacoeconomic, health outcomes and
health care policy knowledge
Excellent communication
skills (written and verbal) with experience presenting scientific and outcomes
based information to HCPs and other key customers
Demonstrated ability to
work independently and in a collaborative team environment
Experience building a MCL
Willingness to travel > 50% of time
