Job Summary Manages the functions associated with EIS Desktop Engineering Team which includes staff responsible for multiple levels of technology management and deployment Areas of focus include the creation of Desktop Image Engineering Tier 3 Desktop Support Citrix Engineering Admin Workstation Management and Configuration Clinical Workstation Management and Configuration and Epic Devices and Profiles See below for details of each teams responsibilities Desktop Image Engineering Create catalog update images for all desktop platforms Admin CWS Mac specialized images maintain universal components layering overall management Tier 3 Desktop Support Triage and resolution of enterpriselevel impact involving desktops Work with Image Engineering team to test and modify images against new standards defined by Desktop Engineering Citrix Engineering Architecture design expansion projects upgrades third level support for Citrix issues Admin Workstations Management Configuration Patching support and general care and feeding of Admin workstations (ie nonclinical workstation desktops) deployment of software electronically etc Clinical Workstation Management Configuration Overall support for clinical workstations outside of regular breakfix including overall configuration management etc Epic Devices Profiles Vetting testing of new devices pilot deployment and (in certain situations) ongoing support for certain items too specialized or complex to fit in with Help DeskClient ServicesTier 2 Manages the impact of the implementation of new or evolving applications on all variations of desktops in a highly heterogeneous technological environment Manages staff that are responsible for service delivery 24X7 Reports to the Health System Director Responsible for the quality of work performed by each reporting staff member Will work with other EIS Managers to insure the successful completion of all EIS projects Responsible for the achievement of financial objectives for the group Responsible to remain flexible and able to address complex problems and users with the outcome of improved service Conducts periodic audits of staff work to insure that appropriate documentation is kept and available Works closely with other Health System Managers Directors VPs etc in the evaluating service needs planning resources and developing successful implementation strategies Develops and implements a comprehensive training strategy for hisher entire staff that results in the staff remaining current in technology and knowledgeable of emerging technologies Also assists the staff with technological issues of particular difficulty Responsible for identifying performance deficiencies and establishing performance improvement plans Education BS Degree in computer science information technology or equivalency in related field Other Qualifications At least ten years of experience in the information technology field with experience as a service delivery and service support manager Strong background in IT service delivery with a proven track record of ability to meet business requirements and deadlines within budget Proven background in developing centralized delivery of desktop engineering services Strong managerial background with particular emphasis on analytical skills decision making skills organizational skills technical management (desktop operating systems software and associated hardware) and vendor relationsnegotiations Experience in implementing technology lifecycles and refresh processes Experience in IT vendor and partner relationship management and license compliance strategy Proven people management skills with a track record of leading a team managing performance mentoring and creating development and succession plans Experience and commitment to customer service delivery and service level agreements Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating with a broad base of technical and nontechnical constituents including project teams and multiple management layers Knowledge of corporate organization and business strategies Outstanding interpersonal and teamwork skills Balance between technical and business sense Strong customer orientation and excellent negotiation skills Ability to foster teamwork Experience in Healthcare Environment Major medical center in metropolitan area Nonprofit EOE
