The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants is the national, professional association of CPAs, with approximately 386,000 members, including CPAs in business and industry, public practice, government, and education; student affiliates; and international associates. Manager – Member Specialization & Credentialing


Manager – Member Specialization & Credentialing is responsible for identifying and developing services to help members learn about and advance their practices in relation to one of the following: Personal Financial Planning, Information Technology, or Forensic and Valuation Services. Manager works with committee members and conference attendees to promote section and to identify emerging trends.

Initiative Management 60%
  • Responsible for setting an annual business plan and executing on it. Plan includes measures for growth of section and credential
  • Responsible for guiding and setting new initiatives in support of membership
  • Responsible for maintaining member valued products and services
  • Interact with internal groups to efficiently identify and distribute projects to members
  • Develop external relationship with consultants to the profession, vendors, academia and others as needed to further the groups goals
  • Responsible for advocacy efforts directly impacting member disciplines with the overall advocacy efforts of the AICPA
Event Planning 15%
  • Responsible for guiding and setting new initiatives in support of membership
Member Support 25%
  • Responsible for member satisfaction
  • Responsible for committee satisfaction
  • Responsible for responding to technical and operational inquiries timely
Expected Metrics:
  • Participation in committee meetings and conferences
  • Successful retention rate for sections and credentials as per annual plan
  • Successful new acquisition metrics of new section and credential holders as per annual plan
  • A fully developed and successful value proposition for section to achieve the above metrics
  • Successful implementation of guides and resources for section and credential members
  • Committee satisfaction of above average or better
  • Development of self


  • Bachelor’s degree with minimum of 6 years of experience
  • CPA required
  • Experience related to personal financial planning
  • Active in AICPA and/or State Society is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation and facilitation skills
