SUMMARY:

Lead the Patient Financial Services-Central Business Office team (medical billing & finance staff) in relation to: depositing of health system cash, recording those deposits in the General Ledger, applying the insurance and patient payments to the detail accounts receivable, reporting and analysis of accounts receivable data, reconciliation of General Ledger accounts, and resolution of credit balances. Prepare and monitor operating budgets. Choose financial vendors and monitor performance. Lead audit projects and ensure compliance to Governmental regulatory and corporate policies.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's Degree is required in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. A Master's Degree in Business or Healthcare Administration, or CPA is strongly preferred. A minimum of five years previous finance, accounting, and patient financial services experience. Experience managing a staff of at least 25-30 employees. Healthcare business/financial background is required.

Extensive financial management and analytical skills to independently conduct analysis of financial information, payor payment screens, statistical formulas, and financial statement ratios is required. Ability to develop and maintain complex spreadsheets on MS Excel is required. Familiarity with large database operations is desirable. Ability to make financial decisions operating within broad parameters. Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively work with sensitive situations presented by physicians, patients, third-party payors, and a wide range of company personnel. Proficiency in the use of computers.
