SBM Offshore is currently recruiting for a Materials & Fabrication Department Manager.
The Department Manager is responsible for the performance of all materials engineering personnel working on projects, proposals and studies (budget, schedule, quality and safety).
The Department Manager will be the technical leader for the materials engineering discipline which includes materials, technology, materials selection, welding engineering and corrosion engineering. The Department Manager will also perform as a Project Lead Materials Engineer for selected projects, proposals or studies from project initiation through customer acceptance.
Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor of Science or International equivalent in Materials Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Welding Engineering or Corrosion Engineering.
Candidates should have 15+ years of experience working with Design, Fabrication, Construction, Inspection of Engineered Products; some experience in the Marine or Offshore Oil and Gas Industry; and some experience in International Fabrication, Construction or Operation of Engineered Products.
A minimum of 5 years of experience working in a supervisory capacity is required. This experience should include working with departmental budgets, conducting performance evaluations and overall staff development (training/coaching/mentoring).
Candidates must be able to apply material engineering principles to assigned work, apply previous experience/knowledge to the resolution of materials and corrosion problems, and be familiar with National and International Codes, Standards and Classification Society rules. Experience effectively communicating with multi-engineering disciplines in collaboration to resolve materials engineering issues is required.
Candidates must be able to perform work consistent with Company Engineering and Quality Assurance Procedures.
