Oversees and manages the Safety Process and Compliance group in creating and maintaining safety policies and procedures. Ensures that FXG policy and procedures are compliant with local, state, and federal regulations.

Essential Functions:
  • Promotes a “Safety Above All” culture.
  • Management responsibilities include, but are not limited to: hiring, terminations, coaching, skills development, recognition and rewards, performance management and staff productivity.
  • Plans, organizes, staffs, directs and controls the day-to-day operations of the department. Develops and implements policies and programs as necessary.
  • Develops and manages the department budget. Ensures compliance and is responsible to address variances and other budget concerns.
  • Oversees the creation and maintenance of safety policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and ensures compliance with local, state and government regulations.
  • Ensures cross-functional support of safety process and procedures.
  • Manages the prioritization of process and procedure improvements by monitoring business activities and correlating with regulatory changes. Oversees the organizational change management function.
  • Ensures corporate governance protocols are followed.
  • Attends and participates in regulatory meetings, action committees, and forums.

Minimum Education:

Minimum Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Transportation, Engineering, Communications, Safety, or other related field required. Master’s degree preferred.

Minimum Experience

Five (5) years previous experience required in safety or a related field. Experience managing policy, procedure, or program materials preferred.

Required Skills, Abilities and/or Licensure
  • Professional designation in one or more of the following preferred: Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Certified Director of Safety (CDS).
  • Ability to anticipate and identify problems and use sound judgment and fact-based analysis to develop effective and efficient solutions.
  • Presentation skills necessary to facilitate training and/or deliver informational sessions to groups or individuals.
  • Verbal and written communication skills necessary to explain complex information.
  • Knowledge of concepts, practices, policies and procedures related to Safety regulations.
  • Ability to inspire a shared vision, empower and motivate a team.

% of Travel for Position: 25-50%.
