Under limited direction, the DNA Analysis Manager will oversee the day-to-day and strategic operations of the DNA Analysis Core by supporting high throughput (next-gen) sequencing—both providing in-house analysis for mid-scale projects and designing and leading larger external projects.

Will work collaboratively with Principal Investigators, laboratory staff and other Institute cores to identify approaches and technologies that best support advancement and creation of projects; perform Ion Torrent library construction, sequencing and new method development; coordinate and facilitate all aspects of use of outside high throughput sequencing facilities; and help interpret and sequence data for researchers, initiating data analysis pipelines; and other related duties and tasks as required or assigned.

Also will explore, recommend and implement new technologies and high throughput sequencing practices to the Institute; advise and guide researchers through available genomics resources; and assist investigators with grant and manuscript preparation as well as experimental interpretation. Will collaborate with the Microarray/QPCR and Bioinformatics core leaders to effectively support and enhance the efforts of research staff.

The DNA Analysis Manager will also be responsible for development and oversight of the core’s budget, stocking and ordering supplies, negotiating and monitoring vendor contracts and relationships, and training, management and leadership of core staff.
